Pizza Rice Casserole

ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1.5 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese

 

 

instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. Boil rice with 1 3/4 cups water. Reduce to low heat for 12 minutes.
  3. Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet.
  4. Add tomato sauce and spices. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  5. Combine rice with cottage cheese.
  6. Put 1/3 of rice in a buttered 2 quart casserole dish. Top with 1/3 of meat sauce. Continue to alternate layers.
  7. Sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
