The Sexsmith Skatepark was built in 2007, and though small, is well-made (built with input from the local skaters) and fun to skate. There is a skate competition every year for the town festival, Chautaqua Day, held in June.

Local skateshops in Grande Prairie (20 minutes south) include Dark Flavour and Fourword.
