medium eggs
baking powder
almond extract
cold water
slivered almonds



  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C)
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Separate one egg. Save yolk and white.
  4. Add dry ingredients, whole eggs, and the egg white of the separated egg.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Pour into a greased 11″ springform pan.
  7. Mix egg yolk with water, and brush on top of cake with pastry brush.
  8. Sprinkle almonds on top.
  9. Bake for one hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
