- Place water in bottom half of steamer pan. Add sald and butter, bring to a boil
- Trim the dry ends off of the asparagus. If the spears are thick, peel them lightly with a vegetable peeler
- Place asparagus in top half of steamer pan
- Steam for 5 to 10 minutes, or until asparagus is tender
- Place on serving tray. Top with dabs of butter, sprinkle with nutmeg
