instructions Roast Beast
  1. Mix the Rub ingredients well, and rub into the pot roast on all sides
  2. On high heat, melt butter in a thick-bottomed pot (like a dutch oven)
  3. Brown the roast on all sides. This keeps the moisture in while it cooks
  4. Take off heat
  5. When cool, add 1" of water in the bottom of the pot
  6. Put a lid on the pot
  7. Turn the heat down to medium-low
  8. Check the roast every half hour or so, and add water if the water level has dropped significantly
  9. Cook for 2 to 3 hours or until roast is tender
  10. When cooked, place the roast on a serving plate
Gravy
  1. Add to the drippings: 2 cups water, bisto, corn starch, and salt and pepper to taste
  2. Heat on high, beating constantly with wire whisk until gravy is at a rolling boil.
  3. Serve, et bon appetit!

Grandma Rita

Grandma's pot roast is tender and juicy, and oh-so-good. Use the leftovers in stew, curry, or roast beef sandwiches
